My beliefs Empty
PostSubject: My beliefs    My beliefs EmptyMon 24 Oct 2011 - 3:18

I love that this forum has a place where we can share and discuss our beliefs. I personally love to talk about my beliefs and also listen to what others believe as I always feel that I don't know everything and that our jobs here on Earth are to learn. I honestly have believed in God/Goddess since before I knew how to express what I felt. This makes me think that there has to be something there. I have always seen things and felt things since a very very young age it would spook people out alot so I never had many close friends and family generally aren't very close to me either. I have always felt spirit guides or angels around me. When I was about 3 I still remember a visitation by angels where they were by my bed and one had a cool wash cloth on my head saying "poor little thing". I have always sort of felt followed by these beings and sometimes like I am being discussed, you know that feeling you get when you feel like someone is talking about you. Sometimes I just know things are going to happen and sometimes I dream them before they happen.

All three of my children came to me in a dream before they were born. I also dreamt of my partner walking away from me after I had mty third child but I felt such love for her in my dream it was like she was real and me not having her was killing her. My family treat the dead like they are still part of the family we vist graves from generations and generations back to put flowers on them. Not many families do that here. We light candles for those we have lost on their birthdays and at christmas as if to let them know that we still remember them. Still my family finds it spooky if I see them or if they tell me something I shouldn't know like the date someone will die or something and they generally don't talk to me for a while if I say it out loud so I don't tell them anymore. I very much believe in psychics and mediums but I also believe there are alot of people out to make a quick buck too. My life has been very frightening and strange at times but I get more used to it with age. I have had alot of people sensitive to these things touch me and feel great power within me but they have sometimes been very frightened by how much there is there. I know I have a strong power for the spriritual within me but I choose to keep what I do to a minimum I think some things are just not supposed to be known or done. How can we learn from life if we always know what will happen and there is also a danger there I am sure of not being able to control what you are doing. If a spirit comes to me with information I will pass it on but I never call them up or try to find them. Spirits have been seen beside my bed while I sleep very often and mostly when they are seen is when I am having a premanition dream or I dream about that sprirt. Some spirits I have helped move on in my dreams and others just want their story heard by someone I think. I have had a few scary experiences but more spirits have been good and kind than scary.

So that is a bit about me and my beliefs and the way I was brought up. Please share a convo with me on this or share your beliefs I would love to hear them. Hell I don't have a life I have a few hours out of my day to converse on spiritual matters. My beliefs 783323

PostSubject: Re: My beliefs    My beliefs EmptyMon 24 Oct 2011 - 20:47

Spending a significant portion of one's life at home doesn't mean one has no life, libranaster!

It would be very difficult for me to list a set of beliefs; like so many of the folks here at OSH (including you), I am spiritually aware, so I experience life a little - well, a lot - differently from those who are not, but I don't view folks who aren't spiritually aware as any 'less than' anyone else; it's just not their path this time 'round, far as I'm concerned. My beloved, for instance, is highly intuitive and somewhat of an empath, although she's more likely to affect the moods of others than be affected by others' moods. She 'picks up' on a lot, but processes it differently than most empaths. She's very head strong, and I think that's what keeps her balanced.

Anyway, she is an amazing and powerful being in terms of who and what she is beyond her human self, but she's not really aware of those aspects of her self, and her path in this lifetime is not highly spiritual. That really bothered me at one point in our relationship, mostly because the spirituality-minded folks I was meeting at the time insisted that her lack of spiritual focus would in some way hold me back. Hee... Letting others define my path for me was the only thing that would have held me back. One person actually went so far as to suggest I should leave my beloved, merely on the basis that she and I were not going the same direction spiritually. I got a lot of really bad advice early on (people insisting that what is true for them must also be true for me), and although most of my life I was easily swayed in different directions according to what other people thought and believed, having other people try to point me toward this and that spiritual path when my experiences were different from what they were suggesting really opened my eyes. I learned how to deal with it when someone tried to define spiritual reality for me in a way that didn't resonate, and I'm grateful for all the practice I got in doing that when I was new to my path. lol

Like lots of folks, I was raised to believe that there is only one true spiritual path, and of course my family and our social circles were all onto that, right? But it bothered me, even when I was little, how many variations there are on the 'one true path'. Took me until I was nearly 40 years old to realize that none of the paths I'd been shown so far had much to do with my reality. I worship no gods, I am not in the process of ascending, I don't have distant relatives from Nibiru coming to escort me into the next dimension, and just because much of what I've experienced seems to mesh with Buddhist or Native American or pagan traditions does not mean I'm on any of those specific paths, either.

Which is not to say that no one is on any of those paths; I'm just saying I am not.

It's not my place to define spiritual reality for other people, and I feel it's very disrespectful when folks try to define it for anyone other than themselves. This seems to be a major theme in my posts, doesn't it? Yikes. I do think it's enormously valuable when folks share their own experiences with one another; people have shared things about their own paths that have helped illuminate mine, and it's that kind of sharing that helped me learn to discern the difference between something that resonates because it's true for me and something that resonates because it's true for the person who's sharing it.

Anyway, I guess my basic outlook is this: I am a multi-dimensional being, having a presence in this physical universe but also in the spiritual dimension(s). No aspect of my life is more or less real than any other, although the physical aspect - this body of mine - is finite, so I rather cherish it simply because it's not mine to keep forever. Just as I'm aware of my energetic connections with other physical beings, I'm aware of my energetic connections with other spirit beings as well. Although I did incarnate here for a specific purpose, the bottom line purpose for any incarnation (of mine) is to experience the many aspects of existence. In some past incarnations, the aspect of existence that I came here to experience was that of physical life without an awareness of spiritual reality, a sense of separateness. This time 'round, the focus of the experience is more inclusive.

I believe... well, I believe it's lunch time and so I'll stop here. *grin* I'm looking forward to what others share here; thanks for starting this thread, libranaster.

You can create your peace Lb. It takes work and time but it can be done. I try to hold my thoughts in a place that feels good, a place where I feel safe I can feel the peace vibrate through my body. This helps me keep my anxiety under control.

I think you are a beautiful soul Lib, you too Plur.
I love the way you understand each have their own beliefs/ truths.
There is no right or wrong way of channeling, sending lost souls on, healing etc.
I can resonate with some of your story Lib.
I dont see spirit much, but I do feel and can communicate with them.
I have a copse at the bottom of my garden and several times a day I go there and talk to the energies there.
We have real conversations.
Sometimes I tell them my troubles and they offer suggestions. Other times I share my day or thoughts with them.
I know of 5 different energies there so far.
One is a knight, my son identified him, Sir Alfred.
Another a faery, a friend identified her.
Another a gnome, I found him.
And one is a tree, or maybe a tree spirit.
The fifth, I dont know yet.
Gosh, I have rambled!
Havent done that for ages!

Thats why I started this thread so people can ramble about the parts of their abilities they enjoy and their expereinces and how they have effected their beliefs. Alot of the things we all experience can be confusing at times and I find the spirit world really has to linear time to it and can be so crazy. This is a place where we don't have to feel crazy for what we believe. We can all let our walls down, walls we build because if we told some people what we have experienced and believe well I am sure you have experienced that look, the are you all there look. Acceptance is an important part of all our experiences in order for us to grow stronger in our abilities and find peace I think.

Mia what an awsome place you have in your garden it sounds so inviting to have such company there. I have seen creatures that are not human as a child but I don't see them anymore as an adult Sad. I remember such joy and wonder to some of it but also scaring my family pointing at a being with such vigor and trying to get them to see what I was seeing. Of course they couldn't and it scared them mainly because they haven't fully accepted their abilities so for me to come right out and say I was seeing something that they couldn't was frightening to them.

It opened up great communication for me and my nan though just before she got her dementia her mother came to her in spirit and told her she would be there for her when she died. Also her father started to follow her and stay with her. He came to her wrapped in chains which was quite frightening for her. I am glad she felt she could talk to me about it though. My great grandmother also knew things would happen before they did she would say "she felt it in her water" now when I know something or I get a vision I say the same thing "this is going to happen I feel it in my water" lol.

My mother never made fun of me when I told her things.
She was/is very openminded.
I was the only one in the family who was 'different' til my kids came along.
My 2nd son and daughter have a gift too.

I have posted most of my experiences here on OSH.

My big joy now is earth/planet healing.
Tonight I am joining with others across the world burning sage to help cleanse the world.

I love how we are all different, yet the same, if you understand me.

I believe in my experience. I believe that my consciousness of having a human experience is not the limit of the experience of my consciousness. That is my experience. Don't let other peoples limitations become your highest expectations I always say.

There is a difference between believing in something you have never had experience with and believing in something you have had experience with. Experience is the path to understanding. You can believe in the possibility and never realize it(make it real or know it as real). There was a time when i believed in the oneness of all things and the connectedness of everything. it was only an idea. An abstract of mind. The moment came when my belief was no longer limited to an idea of what was possible and became a truth of my experience which gave true meaning to my previously limited understanding.

I think you have to allow for your beliefs to change and grow as you change and grow in the experience of life. Perhaps for many reasons your beliefs should precede your experience.

BOBBIE I believe if I put a cake in the oven and I then stomp and bang the oven door my cake is going to fall...that in no way holds me prisoner..that is just wisdom an experience that taught me something. Of which I use in my life to prevent it happening again...How does my believing it hold me prisoner to it.... I found and I mean no disrespect your statement very limiting . Don't get me wrong I am a large proponoant to not letting things shakle you into a BOX. yet your statement in itself hold limitations of using lifes experiences.

Hi Laura, well you don't need to believe that the cake will fall or not if you jump up and down, it just does. You learn in life but you don't have to believe in the things that you learn, they could change anytime, when you believe in something, you stop the flow of truth, truth is ever flowing, of course I am talking more about spiritual truth. The collective belief in a so called truth does nothing but make that belief into an organisation, once you organize truth, you kill it. I am free, each and everyday i am learing more and more, as Paul said, "I die daily". sparkle stars

inside your head must be a really cool place to be at times lol...I mean that lovingly,,
okay when you isolated that statement above you then changed the meaning of your original post...
I personally and I do mean personally see your statement making sense if it said ..."I give up expectations and just let the day and whatever it brings with it flow into whatever it becomes"...this to me personally clears the path for expecting it to be anything other then what it naturally and freely becomes......hence no limitations placed on the days energy by myself
Now we could be saying the same thing just differently as I have learned to never rule out the possibility of anything....could be my inability to grasp heavy analytical thoughts at this time....
simply apples and oranges...which make a great dish together....
all said with great respect and appreciation for your thoughts

PostSubject: Re: My beliefs    My beliefs EmptyWed 11 Jan 2012 - 18:10

I so want to start talking about quantum entanglement but I'll spare you all. in many ways it is our expectations that manifest our reality. It has a lot to do with how time, matter and energy combine to create our material existance. Scientist have learned that the simple act of observing an experiment on subatomic particles can affect the outcome. The thought experiment called shordingers cat suggests that a cat in a box that may be alive or dead depending on whether a devious contraption was activited or not which you have no way to know if it does or doesn't trip, the cat is both alive and dead until we open the box to learn the result. it is plausible that once you open the box it is the first observer that determines the outcome by their own quantum communication with all matter and energy in the box. If you expect the cat to be dead then the device was tripped and the cat is dead when you open the box. If you expect that the cat is alive then the device was not tripped by it's own mechanism and the cat is alive when you open the box.

it is said that if a man decides he is going to die at a particular moment then he will find a way to make it happen. It's the same as the optimism/pessimism thing. If you go about your day expecting it to be miserable it usually is because you create it that way. Even the optimist has days when negativism exerts an effects upon his day but if the optimist chooses to react positively and act positively he can say the day was a good one and expect the same tomorrow. It will likely be a day of sunshine whether it rains or not.

I remember the day that Christine and I got married like it was yesterday. Within a few days of the wedding which was to be a Celtic traditional affair, outdoors, the weather turned bad for July. A few degrees above freezing, rain, wind. it was awful to contemplate. we looked at each other with the same question in mind. We both looked at each other and said No! We agreed that the weather would be perfect on our special day. It was our expectation and our vision. it was also the subject of a fair bit of prayer. The morning of the wedding it rained and was quite cool. We thought, OK, it's a sign of good luck but the wedding isn't until 2pm so we went about setting up and getting ready. about 1130 i the morning the rain and wind just stopped and the clouds literally disappeared from all view and the temperature soared up to july normal at about 78 degrees F. Just as we had visioned it. The weather stayed perfect until about 9pm that night when it returned to horrible. We barely got everything into the house before the storm hit. Everyone left a lot quicker than they came. we had a perfect day and everyone left early. we had to cancel the bonfire but it didn't matter. i know we created the conditions for that day through our expectation. In our minds it could not and should not be any different than we chose it to be.

I think that if we live with the expectation of a world more suited to our personal dreams and ideals we are far more likely to realize it as a true reality. At the very least we will recognize the many ways it is and can become what we envision.
