Herbal Medicine Ban


To the European Commission and EU Governments:

Directive, suspending the draconian measures against herbal medicines
and removing all barriers to traditional remedies with a long history of
use inside and outside Europe. We further call on our governments to
refuse to comply with this Directive until it is amended. We have a

we lost - as of today only the select few and most common herbal remedies will be available without license or prescribed by a herbal practioner, at a cost of £80,000 - £120,000 for a license.

This is addition to the one that was done before the ban came into force xx

All is not lost on herbals. Many will be offered as "Food Supplements". This has been the case with vitamins/minerals for donkey's years. Just no medical claims permitted.

Hee yeah -- the first thing I was taught in my herbal apprenticeship was the importance of choosing my words carefully when talking about the medicinal properties of herbs. First up: Do not use the words 'diagnose', 'prevent', 'treat' or 'cure'. Always thought that was quite an interesting start to my training.
